You can already set DSPs for microphone. The plugin list is the same for on air and for MIC, and if I'm not mistaken, that's for reason (most plugins can't be run in multiple instances).
You can use MIC with other DSPs (but not with StereoTool as it's already being used) - click the DSP button in the MIC settings, or right-click on the MIC button and select "DSP...".
