VB-CABLE Virtual Audio Device.

Hi, i have some questions about the audio:

1) What version of VB-CABLE do you use for RadioBOSS?
2) And why do you have to donate on their site, and you offer them for free?
3) Do you have any limitations?
4) I noticed that if I use the VB Cable + Voicemeeter for RadioBOSS Pre-Listening (editing songs and pre-listening playlists) they have audio lag. Is this true for you?
5) For audio quality: is it better to stream audio from RadioBOSS Encoder, or go through Stereo Tool streaming via DSP or Stand Alone?

Thanks

You can open the installation folder for RadioBOSS and see the VB-Audio folder in the Redist folder. I'm not sure where to check the version of the component.

Donations are not mandatory. RadioBOSS states that VB-Audio is donationware software, giving a link to the developer's web site so you can make a donation.

3) Do you have any limitations?
This is a regular version but customized by its author to have different device IDs.

4) I noticed that if I use the VB Cable + Voicemeeter for RadioBOSS Pre-Listening (editing songs and pre-listening playlists) they have audio lag. Is this true for you?
If you use WASAPI then there will be a slight delay due to buffering.

Audio quality mostly depends on the encoder you choose, so with the same encoder settings I guess there would be no difference if the streaming is done from RadioBOSS or somewhere else. Encoders themselves are standard libraries in most cases.

Thanks for your reply.

I wanted to ask you another thing: I have about 90% of the audio material at 44100 Hz Sample Rate, but some say that the audio is "with more bass" at 48000 Hz.
What can I do?
What advice do you give me to have the best quality on: RadioBOSS / Editing / Streaming ?
Do I have to set everything to 44 or 48?
And how would RadioBOSS behave with songs with different encoding?

Thanks

1) When i double click on the song to pre-listen, i hear a slight fade, why? and how do i turn it off?
2) I have an Audient ID4 sound card, is ASIO better to eliminate the delay? and is it also valid for the Main of RadioBOSS?

48kHz vs 44.1kHz will have more range in the higher frequencies but not in the lower (bass). It's almost not possible to hear the difference between the two.

If most of your music is in 48 then probably setting 48 for output/encoding will be (marginally) better. You can also control resampling quality in Settings->Playback->Miscellaneous section.

For streaming the higher bitrate the better. There's no point in making it higher quality than the source material, e.g. if your music is 192kbps mp3, streaming in 256kbps mp3 will not add any quality.

And how would RadioBOSS behave with songs with different encoding?
It doesn't really care about the source format as everything is first converted to PCM for processing.

It has a fixed 250ms (0.25sec) fade in and fade out, not configurable.

You can use ASIO if your device supports it, it will help in getting rid of the delay.
