Add or remove tags directly in database view

It would be very interesting after many hours of using radioboss to be able to add or delete tags directly from the database view. Without having to enter the card in the tracktool.

For example with a (+) to add a tag and a (-) when hovering over a tag entered on a song to remove it.
(For adding a tag a short menu list would be much more efficient)

The options to add a tag or remove a tag with the right click are good but take away a lot of dynamism from using the software when you have to process more than 500 sounds per day.

+1 Very Good Idea, I'm using regularly tag to control my songs rotations.

In addition, I saw some months ago a post with an idea of "Tag Editor Window", to be able to listen the track and edit quickly tags, with PageUp and PageDown shortcut to switch quickly on another track. : https://www.djsoft.net/community/threads/some-requests-for-future-updates.11672/post-48697 , it was this post by xzsaimon. I think it is a very good feature too ! :)

Best regards

It is possible in the Music Library: select the tracks for which you want to add/remove the tags, then right click and select appropriate command.

The options to add a tag or remove a tag with the right click are good but take away a lot of dynamism from using the software when you have to process more than 500 sounds per day.
We can add a hot key for those commands, what do you think?

The most effective would be a hover click to remove un tag.

Two solutions with a small button - next to the tag to remove it or a hover click on the tag to remove it would be more effective.

And a + at the start of the list with a drop-down menu to select several tags!

I know this procedure, but it is not dynamic enough when you have a database with more than 8000 sounds
You have to open two interfaces it is often faster to go through the tracktool

This approach will not really work with large Tags lists. That's why the tags are in a separate window. We can add hot keys to call Add/Remove tags windows, what do you think?

If you process many songs every day, maybe automatic tags assignment will also help: Tools, Schedule automatic update and there you can assign tags for newly added tracks.

A shortcut why not I don't know if it would be practical to use.
The very long tags list, this is indeed a very big problem.

For pro radio stations you need 4k screens 2 meters long. By the way, 4k is very poorly managed by radioboss ...
In database view and it is even worse in tracktool because of the waves shape.

It would be good to review the presentation and use of tags so that rabioboss is much more suitable for medium and professional radios.

To solve all these different problems at the time I had proposed to create several lists of tags in "configurable fields" for example, but you explained to me that you could not do it. Unfortunately, the configurable fields cannot be of much use because they are not very configurable compared to the tags.

I don't know if Hotkeys is the best approach when you have 50 tags like me aha.

I Have 4K screen too, and a Full HD one, so when I'm using different resolutions it's poorly managed.

@JeanXeb I purposed to separate tags in different lists too, In addition I purposed to an involved tag editor with an integrated player and shortcuts to switch between previous or next song in the database.

I think tag editing directly from database is a very good idea too, thanks for this feature idea.

Best

A hot key will be a starting point. Maybe in the future we'll think of something else, but for this version (7.1) there are no plans on redesigning the tag management.

The very long tags list, this is indeed a very big problem.
Long tag list is more easily managed in a separate window, than in-list.

Can you please post a screenshot to show the problem?

How the presentation should work?

Configurable fields are for reporting purposes only. About multiple tags fields, I'm not sure it will be very practical. I know some people name tags with category preceding, like "Speed: Slow" and "Language: Local" etc.

How key is to call the Add/Remove tag window. Not a hot key for each tag :) To add/remove tags you still have to select them somewhere, a list integrated into the tracks list or separate window - it doesn't really matter as the number of required clicks to do the job is about the same in any case.

I Have 4K screen too, and a Full HD one, so when I'm using different resolutions it's poorly managed.
If you move the window between screens with different DPIs then it can cause some problems. But if DPI is not changed (no moving window between different DPI screens) then it's OK.

I think tag editing directly from database is a very good idea too, thanks for this feature idea.
I don't see how it will change. You still need to select a track, then select tags. It's either a separate window as it is now, or "integrated" editor which is essentially again a separate window but without a window frame :)

In order to preserve our information I can't post a screenshot. But the writing is small everything is very small and doesn't grow with the size of the screen "sometimes"

Do you drag windows between different DPI screens, or it initially starts like this? If the latter, this can be fixed from the Settings -> View -> Style - adjust font sizes there.
