Station Volume Gain Adjustment to make station louder when using the Compressor

Hello all,

The Compressor feature in RadioBOSS Cloud is very good at making low levels in songs louder. However if you turn the Compressor off and do an A/B comparison to how loud the songs are, you will see that using the Compressor makes songs less louder than how they are without using the Compressor.

An adjustable Limiter added after the Compressor would definitely help, or if you don't plan on adding a Limiter then perhaps you will consider adding a "Station Gain" adjustment?

Thank you very much,

Gary

There is Gain slider in the Audio section in the settings that controls overall output level. You can also adjust the Compressor settings to prevent it making loud parts overly quiet.

OK, I re-adjusted the Compressor so that the overall sound of the station is louder. You have to be careful not to adjust the compressor that your overall station sound is lower in volume when compared to non-RadioBOSS Cloud stations.

Try and get the DSP (compressor) doing the work not RB. Be careful to give output to RB so you don't loose sound integrity.

You can play the stream in some player, e.g. RadioBOSS or any other, that shows the level, and check if it ever goes above 0dB. If it does, output level needs to be adjusted.
