Library adding folder issue

I am new to RB.
I am having trouble with how songs are been imported to the Library.
I have a mapped drive on the network with all my music in.
eg music by years/pop Albums with loads of subfolders
When i add the top folder it seems that not all of the files are added.
I am also seeing a message that says some files are not added.
What am i missing is there specific folder structure?
How do i check how many files/songs are in my library so i can reconcile the folder with the library.

When i add the top folder it seems that not all of the files are added.
The Music Library requests the system to get the file list, so it can't miss any files.

I am also seeing a message that says some files are not added.
It will skip non-music files, e.g. hidden "Thumbs.db" where Windows stores thumbnail cache, or another hidden "desktop.ini" file that contains folder settings. There possibly could be some other non-music files, all those will be counted as Skipped files.

It won't miss any music files, even broken or unplayable ones, they will be added to the library regardless.

What am i missing is there specific folder structure?
There are no requirements for folder structure, any structure will do.
One thing is that you should always use the same path, that is, if you work with a mapped network drive, always use it, do not mic it with UNC \\Computername\Folder paths.

@everyone Thanks i think i resolved it all i was in patient, the library is massive some with no track names dont help but thanks
