Question about Voice Track music attenuation settings

So I went to the 'Playback->Fading' section in Radioboss settings and adjusted the level by which the volume of the song should be attenuated when a voicetrack is playing. I also set the fade time (time taken for the attenuation to take effect) to a level I felt comfortable with. All this is working perfectly fine, however the problem comes in with the item that will play immediately after the voicetrack, which will also have an intro fade. I would rather not have the next item 'fade in' after the voicetrack has played. For example, normally after a voicetrack I will place a station sweeper or stinger to play immediately after. Ideally, they are supposed to start with a bang as originally intended, rather than fade in slowly after the voicetrack - which sounds weird.

Is there a setting I need to input that will implement the attenuation of the music to a lower volume when the voicetrack starts to play, but then the item that plays immediately after the voicetrack starts at normal volume with no attenuation? In short, the option to trigger the attenuation of a track as the voicetrack begins playing but have it not impact the item set to play after the voicetrack.

Thanks.

Did you create a file type for the sweeper with disabled fade in?

then the item that plays immediately after the voicetrack starts at normal volume with no attenuation?
Looks like the problem is with VT attenuation fading, currently it has only one "fade" option that is used for both fade in and fade out. Probably we can separate those to control independently fade out and fade in of the attenuation. What do you think?

Yes, fade in is disabled for all my Station ID

Absolutely! This would be an amazing feature if we can separate the settings for fade in and fade out of the attenuation. I hope it can be implemented.

I also wanted to add that under the current system, when I try to render the playlist that contains voice tracks it makes the fade in to the subsequent audio (sweeper in this case) even longer than how it sounds when played live. It even affects the song after. Strange. Screenshot of rendered waveform attached.

This option will be added in one of the next updates.

Yes, this issue was also reported by other users, and it'll also be fixed soon.

Hello just checking in and asking if this may be implemented soon. This attenuation issue is causing us alot of grief at my station 😅. I know it may take time as I'm sure you guys have alot on your plate but I thought a small reminder wouldn't hurt. Lol

Anyway thank you as always.

Will this next major update contain the fix for voice tracks playing after the intro if they are added before the next song plays? Sometimes, if you can get away with adding a voice track a few songs down the playlist, but not always. The only guarantee that things will work is to completely stop radioboss.
This has been mentioned on another thread, but, as was done above, this is also a small reminder.

Greetings. Just checking in. Thought I'd hop in with a reminder about this. Hope it's still in the works for the upcoming update. It's badly needed! Thank you 🙏
Several voicetrack-related issued were fixed for the upcoming RadioBOSS 7.1 release.

Many thanks for implementing these changes in voice tracks in the recent beta release. Been testing it. Works well! Thank you 🙏

Where do you adjust the fading levels for the voice track music beds though? I saw the new feature mentioned in the release notes but can't find it in the settings.

Great minds think alike, as I was about to ask the same question. However, as that part of the radioboss preferences are still inaccessible, as you've also acknowledged in a previous thread, is there another way of changing this setting until the accessibility is fixed?

Thank you. Currently testing it though it seems the fade out applies to milliseconds before the end of the entirety of the music bed, rather than before the end of the voicetrack under which the bed is playing.

If I may explain it in practice - if my voicetrack is 2 minutes long (2.00), and my music bed is 5 minutes long (5.00), and I set Bed Fade Out to 3000 milliseconds, it seems the fade out will apply at 4.57 on the music bed, rather than at 1.57 on the music bed when I need it to fade out because my 2 minute voicetrack is ending.

As it is, currently when I set Bed Fade Out to 3000ms, the music bed plays at full volume all the way through till the end of the 2 minute voicetrack and into the next song with no fade out whatsoever, defeating the purpose of it.

Unless I'm doing something wrong here?

Only by editing the settings file manually I think. In RadioBOSS top menu: Settings, Open Settings Folder. Close RadioBOSS. In the folder opened, edit the file player.ini, the options are:
  • VTBedFadeIn
  • VTBedFadeOut
Just in case create a backup of this file. When editing, only change the values, keep all spaces/line breaks intact.

The bed should end when the voice track ends. Do you mean the bed overlaps one of the music tracks, or there's a gap between the tracks and there's no voice track or music, and only the bed is playing?

The bed ends, yes, but doesn't fade out, is what I'm saying. It plays at same preset volume from start to end of the voice track, then just cuts out when the next track starts. No fade, even when I set Bed Fade Out to 3000ms. This makes me suspect the fade is being applied to the end portion of full music bed file, rather than the portion that accompanies the voice track only. For now though, I get no music bed fade out whatsoever when my voice track ends.
