Queue Overlay ?

Hi guys,
Hope everyone is safe!
I have some sets of Voiceover in two different events to playback using Overlay. As they play in different time intervals, it works fine but sometime the two play at the same time. Is it possible to have an option to force the overlay to queue and to behave like the other a playlist ?

Many thanks

Overlay events always start immediately except for cases when you set the "Maximum time to wait" option, in this case it will wait for the track in the main playlist to end. Events will not wait for each other. To avoid overlapping, you should adjust events' start times so they never start together.

I solved my problem. It results that if you have events waiting in the queue to play with overlay, regardless of their individual setting for the waiting time, when one starts, all the other in the queue will start resulting in playing together in the overlay player. I thought I could give one event more marge to play and other to start on time or less and have the long event wait in the queue. Unfortunately if one starts playing immediately or before the long one waiting, the time is release to the long waiting one too.
Hope this make sense,
take care everyone

Yes, because all those events are waiting for the playlist independently. They don't wait for each other. If you need to queue events one after another, you should not use Overlay but insert events to the playlist directly.

In case someone scheduled 2 events with an overlay option and by mistake they were overlapping, is it possible to have an option not to play the second event if there is one already playing?

There's no option for that. If the events are supposed to play one after another, probably it would be easier to schedule them as a single event with two actions.

Ok thank you
As i remember in the past you mentioned that you are going to add an option that warns about overlapping events, is that still planned for future updates?
Thanks again

This feature already exists and it's called Event Overview, you can access it in the scheduled events list, press the List button and select Event Overview.

Is it possible to make the default [overlay playback (set playlist Level to)] Zero instead of fifty? 😊

There's "Set as default" button in the event properties window, it will set the default options for new events.

Thank you
Yes I know that, I have it already set to it default for the insert position ...., but i thought that most of the overlay use when it's used to play a file, playlist level should be Zero otherwise a person can choose it to put it up when needed. Any way it's not that important but i thought i will share my view.
Thank you for your prompt reply (y)

Initially (in around 2003) this feature was added to allow making the announcements on top of the music, e.g. in a shopping mall. Point was not to silence the background music entirely. That's why the default setting is at 50.
